October 17: Coop Night at the Market: Market Meal & Family Film Night in Celebration of the Year of the Cooperative!

Farmers’ Market Meal and Family Film Night in Celebration of the Year of the Cooperative!

Come celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives this Wednesday, October 17 with a Market Meal and Family Film Night in Wolfville put on by the Valley Cooperative Network.    We will be celebrating with food, activities and information at the Wolfville Farmers`Market and inspiring documentaries and family-oriented film shorts at the Al Whittle Theatre!

At the Wolfville Farmers Market, off Elm Ave, Wolfville (4-7pm):
The Market meal runs from 4 – 7 pm at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market and members of any cooperative and their families get a special deal of $2 off the $10 Market Meal during the Wednesday Wolfville Farmers’ Market . There will also  be a BINGO game that gives everyone a chance to learn about Valley Cooperatives and win a prize.  As well, there will be a variety of Valley-based cooperatives on hand to share information about their organization and services.   Bring a friend and learn how to walk the slack line. Slack lines are like a tight rope and a trampoline put together. Lots of fun for people of all ages with the help of a shoulder or hand to guide you across as you learn! Phil from the Trail Shop will be on hand to teach you, and help you across even if you're on your own!

At the Al Whittle Theatre, 450 Main Street, Wolfville (4-9pm):
For this special celebration of Valley Cooperatives, the Acadia Cinema Coop is inviting everyone to an inspiring selection of documentary films on the impacts of cooperatives and a screening of award-winning family-oriented animated film shorts from collection of the National Film Board at the Al Whittle Theatre for free.
